Title: Issue on DRA-1360
Post by: JaMeShi on December 10, 2021, 12:36:59 AM
Bought the D-Link DIR-1960 WiFi Router and DRA-1360 WiFi Extender bundle not too long ago. Managed to setup the DIR-1960 to connect to the broadband with no issue.

However the DRA-1360 was not able to function since Day 1. It would seem fine every time after initial setup. I followed the steps shown in the APP, make the connection, waited for the 3 green bars. So far everything ok. Then move the DRA-1360 away from the DIR-1960 and placed at the intended location. Power on, 3 green bars, make the WiFi connection from mobile phone, connected but "Invalid Password".

Called technical support few times and was guided to install using a few different method (wired/wireless), updated the Wifi Extender firmware to v1.11 and then v1.12 still the issue remained the same. Went to the distributor, got a replacement unit, tried all method and still facing same issue. Tried connecting to the DRA-1360 using different mobile phone also same issue.

DIR-1960 firmware is the stock v1.02

Does anyone has a solution...? Would really appreciate it...

The password most likely is incorrect. For some reason, during setup if you enter an incorrect password it will will connect but will not pass Internet. The green LEDs indicate a good connection between the router and extender, but your client/extender connection is not working due to incorrect password.

Do you have special characters in your password (like -+#$, etc)? Try just numbers and letters to test. Also passwords are case-sensitive. If using iOS devices, try forgetting the network and reconnect (if using the same wifi name/password as the router).

Had the extender replaced.
And once the special characters in the WiFi password is removed, only the extender works. What a surprise.
