Post by: Geniee on January 14, 2020, 10:54:00 PM
Has anyone else been experiancing issues with 2020 dates?
I thought the y2K but was over..... can DLink REALLY be this lame to only predict 10 years in advance?

D-Link is aware of the issue already. Please be patient while they fix it.

Annoyingly it seems that the original post has now been locked so we can't post replies. Why is this? It's still a valid thread to ask questions rather than start a new thread.

I am still waiting for a release date. I hope they can get this done before Chinese New Year... I am not sure why this is taking so long.

Sorry, but I call bollocks on this. D-Link will drag their feet in fixing an issue on an item that they don't sell or support anymore. Happy to be proven wrong, but that's what I'm expecting. It was a very stupid bug to have in the first place..... as if no one would be using the product after 2019?

But thats ok, maybe they are right. It's the final nail in the coffin for me. Years of buggy firmware updates and devices not operating to their full potential, plus now a stupid bug that means I can not view footage recorded in 2020 has meant that I am decommissioning my D-Link system and getting a proper and reliable security camera setup. It will cost me money, but worth it in the end. And I will be spreading the word far and wide, and ensuring none of my friends make the same mistake in purchasing D-Link products.

We understand everyone's frustration, however lets give D-Link the chance to correct the problem. They have already corrected other models and again, D-Link is aware of it and seems to be in the process. Again, since D-Link is over in Asia, they are observing there holiday as well. So unfortunately comes right in the middle of getting this fixed thus may delay. Please be patient.

Spread the word if you makes you feel better. People will pick and choose what mfr they wish to buy from. There are many other Mfrs with problems with in there own products. D-Link and other mfrs are not perfect thus bugs seems to be a constant since we are a imperfect world.

Good Luck in your endeavours.  ::)
