I have had my 202L since the Summer. If I remember correctly its about 3 months. I do not regret my purchase. However since installation I have had 2 disconnects of the 202L from my router. A quick disconnect of the LAN cable and reconnect fixes it. Given its connected via LAN cable I was surprised it disconnected. Has anyone else experienced this?

Mine isn't working in mydlink as of today... (RED X) I haven't bothered to trouble shoot it.
Is this the same issue?

I'm able to log in on local IP address from my PC.
I'll try disconnecting network cable and see if mydlink picks it back up.

Yes it means the 202L has lost connection to your router. Physically the cable is obviously connected. The quickest way to fix this is to just disconnect and reconnect the LAN cable. Mine happens in the wee hours of the night and it has happened 2x.

WTF... I went over and touched my DNR-202L and the drive fail alarm was set off.. beep beep beep.. I didn't even have a chance to unplug the network cable.
Started laptop up to log in... no recording (still beeping)
unplugged network from router... and re-attached...
I don't think I touched the usb cable for the drive...
recording started again.... I'm using WD ultra passport 4TB drive... it's been full for a while... only 2 cams at the moment streaming...
p.s. my issues with "mydlink" are now straight.. I'm back online in there...
So I'm tempted to believe this might be related to your issue.. but this is my first time with such an issue...

I have problems with reformatting on both Seagate and WD when removing the drives after they are full. Had to reformat through windows to fix.
Back to the disconnect issue, have you resolved? So you are experiencing disconnects too? If its the 202L and not the router then it seems unreliable to me. I dont have a cheap router so an hesitant to blame the router.

Well that was my first disconnect from mydlink.
I was still good locally. Could have been a router acting up.
I'll definitely keep an eye on it.

I brought my 202 online and added a 250Gb drive just to test with. Looking good. Accessible with MDL services so far. ::)

Per the log mine was concurrent with a disconnect of some cams with the 202L. The cams reconnected but the 202L did not. Could have been a router fault. Or MDL. Don't know. I have not checked my router log yet.

My 2330L had acted up earlier in the week also. Would be online in mydlink then offline.. attempting to access locally was a problem also, but it would finally kick in and work - then be online in mydlink. Really strange.
Everything looks to be stable end of this week after unplugged/put back 202L network cable... no more issues that I have seen.

Clearly we are dealing with consumer grade rather than commercial/industrial grade equipment.

Seems like it may have been a MDL intermittent service issue.
Most D-Link products are home and consumer grade products.

The 2 cameras on it are fine. 2 different ISP's tried. I remote desktop in last night and tried to connect laptop wireless (it's weird to main) to that 2nd router. Either I changed the passkey or failed to write new one down.
It must be something with my setup as it sounds like no one else has the issue. I'm sure it's still recording. I see the router and hard drive flashing away. Just can't access it. (The one 960l is connected 5ghz to they router, the other wired 2210l is on a splitter of the main router).

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email. Reference this forum thread...

Have tried with reserve ip address and without. Make no difference. Works great when it works but the 202L dropping offline is killing me. Havent tried with Static ip. Not sure how. What Mfr and model is the main host router?
Is the DNS getting a Dynamic IP address from the main host router? I recommend using a Static IP address ON the DNS set to 192.168.#.20 or .202.

Ok, can count me in on this. I tried to log into the DNR today and the MDL Lite and NVR app both showed the DNR disconnected.
I connected to the DNRs web page on the LAN side and it's working there.
I rebooted the DNR and it was showing as connected to the MDL service after it was ready.
I'll try and get some info on this on Monday. Please be patient.

H/W version A1 ..F/W version 2.04.03. Router is Motorola Surfboard SBG6782. DCHP with reverved ip for DNR. Running 1 DCS5222L and 1 DCS 942L.

My disconnects have returned despite reserving an IP address for the DNR 202L. It's getting annoying. I am trying to pinpoint whether this is a router issue or a device issue or a mydlink issue. None of my cams disconnect when the DNR disconnects. To bring it back online I need just unplug/replug the LAN cable. Even if it does disconnect shouldnt the DNR have the ability to reconnect by itself?
Update: I have 2 DNRs and both disconnect. As other report the same problems, I realize it cannot be a router issue. Unless this problems went unreported prior to recently it seems to be a problem with mydlink?????

I unplugged my dnr 202l last night and put it in a different port. In a few minutes it was back online.
This morning, it is one again offline.
I'll look for a reboot device page in the web ui tonight.

That is exactly what happens to me. I have also moved the LAN cable plugin to a different port. Everyone has a different router. We all have the same DNR 202L with the latest firmware and we all use mydlink. I really think that eliminates the routers as a cause.
I also get some cam disconnects. And the IP address changes despite having reserved one for the cam. But this only happens on a specific cam. The cam itself doesent seem to disconnect (or it reconntects itself). However after each disconnect I need to manually add it back to the DNR 202L. This cam is far from my router so that might be a cause.

My camera remains connected, however it uses a static IP address as well has the DNR.

ok - I issued Settings->System->Reboot Device.
The DNR 202L came back online through the app.
We'll see what happens tomorrow.

Hello, I'd like to chime in that I'm experiencing this issue also. (Firefox and Windows 10 user)
Rebooting/unplugging/updating firmware have not worked. I'll also mention that that firmware was patched to fix a known issue with playback in Firefox yet it has not worked. I have never been able to access the recorded footage and urgently need to be able.

If you were remote then you would be out of luck. These are all flaws and problems with the DNR.

I have looked, and I'm recording.
Although I have set the recording to continous in the web UI.

The problems predate the server maintenance. If anything I hope they are fixing the issue. SMH.

Yes, I know the problems pre-date. I'm hoping the issues will be fixed in this maintenance period.
Last maintenance was on the 15th. Seems when the some problem may have been intro'd. ???

I've already done extensive troubleshooting on my own so I'm afraid about whether they're going to be able to help, but I can only try before I cut losses and buy a different product. I need something urgently for an intruder and 202L is really terrible.

There is maintenance going on with the MDL service which the DNR uses so you might see if it works better tomorrow or the day after.
Another option short term would be to install D-View Cam software on a PC and point your cameras to it if your needing something quick to capture video.

I restarted the Dnr 202l last night, and it hasn't been offline yet. Hopefully this issue is now resolved.

I restarted mine yesterday after noon after I go home. It's offline as of today at work. I presume maybe I should have restarted it later. Trying to get someone to restart it now. ::)

Wondering if you disable uPnP and any uPnP Port Forwarding on the DNR would exhibit any differences.

Both of mine went down. Some cams went down. I put it all back online this morning and its been OK. IMO this is not professional grade equipment. We all know its consumer class but it should have very little down time. And that down time should not have to result in manual recovery. They need to figure out how to make product recover by itself.

I'm going to check on my configuration at home and see. I'm using a older model router for testing and wondering if there could be something between it, the DNR and MDL services that's stopping. :-\

So I restarted my DNR this evening again. Nothing out of the ordinary that I can see. All is working on the LAN side. Just on the MDL service and Lite app when it's disconnected.

Well I don't know if they fixed something or if it was me sending a email to support and giving this issue to them and my DNRs info to them on Friday after work.IT's been up since then. I even traveled out of town yesterday and was able to access it while visiting family. I'll give it till tomorrow and check again.

Mine have been online since Saturday. However, I get assorted cam disconnects despite reserving an IP address for all. The cam itself doesn't disconnect from MDL (or if it did it reconnects and I don't notice this happening). However, once the cam disconnects I need to manually reconnect it to the DNR202L. Anyone else experience this? It's really flaky and frustrating to deal with every so often (daily or every other day with longest continuous lasting about two weeks). I'm tired of it.

My cam and DNR uses a static IP address, not a reserved address. My cam keeps connected all the time to the MDL service and the DNR. Which seems online and stable now with the MDL services.

My external ip address resets maybe once every 2 years, if that's what your asking.
I'm sure I have the Dnr 202l reserved in the router is attached too. I have not had to use a different local ip address to access it.

It's offline again today along with a 960l that's on the same router. I'll give it a pass today though, my Internet and cable TV was down for 5 hours last night(rare). I'll reboot that side later tonight.

Ok. It's easy to setup static on the DNR and DCS if you can. Nothing else to set up or re-associate with the MDL service. Both DNR and DCS been UP for me accept for some DWA-192 and 890L testing last couple of nights. After testing was done, camera came back on line automatically for me as I had disabled wifi radios and changes SSID names for testing.

It was the routers fault this time. It had failed to reconnect to the Internet. I reboot it last night, and the dnr202l is still good today.

Ok.
One thing I did, was to fill out a support ticket under the DNR-202 on D-Link contact us support site. I gave them the MDL service ID number of my DNR and info of what was happening and a link to this forum thread. My DNR has been online since then.
I will get more info tonight as I am at work. It has the latest firmware. I am in Des Moines, IA USA

Looks like dlink MAY have fixed the disconnect problem - at least for me. It's been a bit more than 3 weeks since I had to reset the DNR-202L. Hopefully it's working for everybody else . . .

Ok, so my DNR is now off line again. Of course I'm not at home and at a remote location visiting family and wont be back till Thursday or Friday. ::) DCS-933L is also off line however it may have been unplugged. There was maintenance that started on the 16th so I guess it probably was the cause. Soon as I get home I'll reboot everything. >:(
