Title: Failed to Upload Image

I'm having trouble getting my camera to work again.

Whenever I start it up, the light stays red.
I also tried holding down the reset button for 10 seconds and then powering it on, then going to 192.168.0.20 and then attempting to upload the .bin firmware that I downloaded from dlink here:

I've tried all 3 versions of the firmwares that are listed... 15, 14, and 13.

Anything I do results with the message: "FAILED TO UPLOAD IMAGE"

do the firmware files need to be named something?

I am doing this via my Macbook and Chrome.

Did you extract the .bin file from the .zip file? If so and the file failed to upload.

Can you connect the camera to the LAN port and to a router and see if you can access the IP address it gets from the router?

I presume theirs not much left if you have tried a factory reset and the camera will not re-connect or setup at all.

yes. I extracted the .bin file and tried to upload that, not the .zip file.
I connected the camera to the LAN and it never shows up in my network.
I did try to do a factory reset, by holding down the reset button ... even for 50 seconds.

I'm guessing this device is hosed for no damn reason.

Seems to be. Depending upon age and use, could be a gonner. Sorry about that. Hope you find another.

What's interesting is that when I try to send the firmware, it seems to cut the connection. I try to reload the webpage, and it has no connection. But a few seconds later, i get the Emergency Room back online.

I also tried to curl the software.. and it disconnects as it's uploading.

the blue and red LED then flash afterwards. It seems that uploading causes the device to reboot. it happens within a few seconds of uploading.
Lastly, I don't have to hold down the hidden button with a paperclip to enable the firmware mode. It automatically enters that mode on it's own.

I wonder what caused this.
