Hello All,
I want to perform the dynamic VLAN assignment on my network using 802.1x therefore I get two access points DAP-3310 et DAP-2360 and one RADIUS server. I did the required configuration but it is not working.
Please help me to realize this configuration, and which RADIUS server is preferable to use with D-Link devices

- What Hardware version is your DAPs? Look at sticker under the DAPs.
- Link>What Firmware (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=47512.0) version is currently loaded? Found on the DAPs web page under status.
- What region are you located?
Is there any information with in the User Manuals to help with this?
If not, I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.

Unfortunately there is nothing important concerning this point in the manual.

Yes, DAP-2360 supports dynamic Vlan. It is working on all RADIUS solution as long as it follows RFC standard , in my case I used NPS Network Policy Server of Windows server 2008.
a. Wireless Security

-tunnel medium type: (802.1x)
-tunnel pvt group id: (Vlan ID)
-tunnel type : (VLAN)

d. Switch config:
Include all the configured Vlan on the ports connecting to the AP ( eg. Vlan-1 tagged ; Vlan-2,3,4 Tagged ).

globalit, does your mgmt vlan is also on vlan 1, or it is assigned dynamically by the NPS.

Hi,
I use dynamic vlan with DLINK DGS3120 switches. These switches send to the radius server the device mac address, and the devices connected on the host-based interfaces obtains a VLAN number according their mac addreess. It is possible to configure the dynamic vlan on the DAP-2360 (or other) in the same manner ?

Something you might check the DGS series users manual for and see. Or phone contact D-Link support.

Thanks for your anwer, but my question is not for the DGS. That I want, is to reproduce on the DAP the DGS functionalities.

Does the user manual for the DAP have any information on VLAN?
Some DAPs may not support VLAN capabilities. Something you might ask your regional D-Link support office about. Might need to use a DGS in conjunction with the DAP.

For example, with the DAP-2360, I see on the screenshots the ability of dynamic vlan.
When activated, is it possible to send the mac address of the device connected to the radius server (nps in my case) and read the vlan number in the radius answer (as I use the dynamic vlan in the DGS).
