Mac OS X 10.10.5 can't load camera recordings
« on: August 23, 2015, 10:03:35 PM »

hello,
after updating my computer to 10.10.5 (10.10.3 was working fine) the mydlink.com website shows a Quicktime symbol with a question mark when trying to play recorded video inside my DCS-942L. It happens with any browsers and I think it's the Perian plugin that is not compatible anymore with the new system, but I'd like to know if any of you is able to watch recordings from the website with the new OS X.
 :-\
thanks

I'll check this out this evening when I get home with my 933L. I haven't had a chance to test after I updated.

ok let me know,
live view is working fine (I think that part is using Java), while watching the recorded videos shows the blue quicktime symbol for few seconds as always and then the symbol become grey with a question mark (as if it can't find the plugin).

thanks

Ok I can view my 933Ls video feed on Mydlink on OSX 10.10.5 using Safari v8.0.8. Also see the same video feed directly using the cameras web page as well. I don't have an SD card slot so I can't test this...

Not sure of Safari 9 is supported as of yet. Can you enabled Developer mode and use the User Agent to select Safari 8 or 7?

hi, on developer mode i can choose all the other browsers but not safari 7 or 8.
Anyway i tried also with Chrome or Firefox and it's still not working.

I'm going to update to El Capitan 10.11 tonight, let's see if that solve the issue.

Still same issue also with OS X El Capitan 10.11.
Live View is ok because it's using the "UPlayer" plugin, but if you try to watch a recorded video from the SD nothing happens.
The plugin "Perian" that they suggest to use on the website stopped being developed and updated since 2012 (but it was working fine until OS X 10.10.3 included).

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. Reference this thread if needed. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email or FB> https://www.facebook.com/mydlink?fref=ts.
Let us know how it goes please.

So today I noticed they updated the FAQ on the mydlink website:
"If you are using Safari 9 or later running on Mac OS X 10.11 or later, SD card video playback is not available because the required QuickTime plugin is no longer supported."

So... that's it? No one at dlink is working on solving this?
