DWA-643 Windows Vista Drivers
« on: July 23, 2007, 03:19:48 PM »

Does anyone know what the timeline will be for supported Windows Vista Drivers for the DWA-643? The BETA drivers are not recognized by windows at this time using the directions given on the downloads page. Windows Vista works using the XP driver but it is temper-mental - dropping the connection often.

Has anyone else run into issues trying to install the Beta drivers?

General Link that covers D-Link model numbers:

Run Windows Vista update and use the driver provided there.

Is that it?

Is D-Link ever going to provide a D-Link driver or we are supposed to stick with the Microsoft one?

Thanks

The MS driver is based off the chipset for the card and should work fine.

D-Link is working on a driver verision, however the windows zero config thats written in to Vista is making things complicated. MS would like for you to only use thier utility with thier OS................

As it currently stands (08/08/07) D-Link will support the use of either driver and the use of MS windows Zero Configuration utility.

We are slowly transitioning to D-link branded versions of 32-bit Vista drivers. The Vista Driver links on the support site will reflect options to use drivers Built-in to the OS or the D-Link branded versions.
