Rather use it as another bridge - however the D-Link software can't configure the DGL-4500 to work that way.  I wonder if anyone has hacked it?

There was legal reason why they removed bridging options from some of there routers. The 4500 never had bridging options. I use mine as a AP. Works great.  ;)

Ya - I guess I could plug a wireless bridge (DAP-1522) into one of the LAN ports of the DGL-4500 leaving the WAN port unconnected and sticking the pair in the far end of the house making the DGL-4500 into a super range extender.  I would need to configure static IPs within my LAN on both units and make sure that DHCP is turned off in the DGL-4500...  My DIR-857 would handle the DHCP.  I may need to touch up the routing table in the DGL-4500 as well to prevent it from ever attempting to use the WAN port.  Should work...  Have you tried anything like this?

I use this:
Turning a router into an AP.

Havn't tweeked the routing table. Just turned off DHCP and all features on the 4500, opened iit up for all traffic and set it up for single mode N on 5Ghz. Very zippy. The hangs out in the bed room with my xbox. I have a 825 i the living room doing the same thing accept providing 2.4Ghz Wifi too.  ;) All on the same SSID, just different channels.
