Save yourself a lot of problems and get a Netgear  ;D

I H-A-T-E them!!

You need to get a life.  I looked at your site and it is completely baseless.  "They stole my design!  :'("  Sorry, you aren't proving it on your site.  You aren't showing proof that you had a design before thiers.  For all I know, you are the one stealing a design.

Make a better case before you waste peoples time with your whining.  And if you think you really have a case and it has cost you monitarily, get a lawyer.  But again, you are wasting people's time with your whining.

Is there any answer to this?  I'm unable to connect to Xbox Live from my 360, despite having added the static address and rule to forward the ports.  It hangs at the DNS phase.

I am running a DGL-4500 with FW 1.12 connecting via 5GHz "n" to a DAP-1522, where the 360 is connected.  Connectivity of all other sorts works, except Xbox Live.

I don't understand this. I've got 4 of these units in play at my house and other test environments with the latest code and I can replicate this issue.
Are you guys disabling the SPI?
Also try giving the WAN a static DNS entry of 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220
and see if the problem persists.

Count me in as a DGL-4500 user that has had nothing but XLIVE issues with firmware 1.12.  With previous firmware versions I never had any problems. Now it just doesn't allow me to connect. I did save my router settings before the upgrade which I subsequently imported after the upgrade. Not sure if this has anything to do with it.
When testing my network settings on the XBOX360 it passes all tests except it doesn't connect to XBX Live. Very frustrating

mvn41,

Have you tried to apply the static DNS entry that Lycan mentioned in the previous post? Try resetting the router to factory default with the latest firmware running and try again. Also btw, there has been a new beta firmware recently posted here for this router as well.

Thanks but... if i give a static DNS to the WAN, don't I need to update ALL my connected devices?? That sounds way too much work. This super-expensive router ought to work by itself. I will try any router setting changes but anything that requires changes in the connected devices is out of the question.
Again, I was happy till 1.12 came along...

mvn41,
It's not on the devices you have to configure DNS.. It's in the routers User Interface.

1st. uncheck DNS Relay located in the BASIC > NETWORK SETTINGS of the router.
2nd. go to BASIC > INTERNET > Manual Configure section and enter in the DNS info.

(Example)

Also try to disable SPI and check NAT endpoint filtering to Independent.

Have you tried the Beta firmware 1.13 b02?

I now this is a old thread however I wanted to make it known that with a little review of the Gaming and Gamefuel sticky located in the FAQ Library, this is no longer an issue or should be an problem. I've tested v1.02, v1.12 and most follow on FW versions and depending on your ISP service, modem and your setup, the DGL-4500 works well with XBL on any FW version.
