What is your WPA security set for? Auto, TPIK or AES? Try TPIK or AES only?

What happens if you use Mixed All Modes?

Do you see this with Channel Width set for Auto?

To be honest, this router isn't the only one having issues with Apple devices. I'm seeing this across the board on most DLink routers. Wondering if there is DLink issue or if this could be a Apple issue.

Dlink issue. ;D

We'd appreciate if you would contribute to the post and help out and keep your perceived personal opinions about DLink and there products to yourself. Comments like this are not helping anyone and we're all here to help each other out and gain a better experience while using there equipment. If you don't care for DLink or have any DLink equipment then your better off on other boards. Thanks.

I do understand everyones frustrations with DLink and some of the HW. I have been in contact with DLink and do believe that 90% of the issues see on here are user configuration problems. Not Hardware. Yes, I fully agree that there are some HW issues out there. However we are here to try and help identify the issues with users and the hw and to see if we can troubleshoot as far as we can before having the user go back to DLink or return the HW and choose something else. Its in this troubleshooting that we can help identify and narrow down issues in configuration and most of the time, can be resolved. Yes I do have an Airport Extreme router. It's used as an AP only. I use a DGL-4500 for my main router and and a NG 3700 router also configured as an AP in my living room. Ya, i've done some different things and use different things to see what works best for my needs. The main goal for us here is to just help people get there stuff going and working well. And if we can't then, we gave it our best try and hope the user will find something else or find resolution with DLink.
I
wish DLink would help us out more here on the boards. Trust me, they are watching the boards. I recommend this. Look for the moderator signatures and send them a PM. They might not answer, just depends on how busy they are as they have other jobs at DLink. Be detailed in your PM and tactful. You never know, might get you a response, and if you don't get an immediate response, be patient. Then try once more after that.

Not to bash any one OEM however have you been to the NG forums lately? Theres alot more going on there than here. And NG doesn't watch there forums or manage them.  :-\
 My 2 cents ;D

Just for understanding ,I'm very happy with my Dlink 855 and with Dlink in general. This is the fastest router I tested.
Only those Wireless errors are an issue and I want to contribute to resolve this. This happens only when I connect Ipad and iTouch in whatever whirless mode I use.

Some Facts:
- Ipad/ Itouch are up-to-date on OS level.
- The moment I connect one of those I get Wireless Errors but nothing in the log.
- Also those Ipad /Itouch devices disconnects and are slow to re-connect each time i open a internet session.
slow to re-connect each time i open a internet session
-> this is resolved by NOT using the "Auto" mode but by using a fix WPA
- I can't see anything on the Apples forums relating to this
- I have 3 other windows machines (Winxp and Vista) : There i don't have the issue. You can check this by eliminating those devices on the network and see if the numbers of errors increases or not.
- Nothing is mentioned in the Log.
- I do want to understand if those errors are due a configuration mistake on my part but i worded already with a number of routers and i did never had this issues.

Some answers :
What is your WPA security set for? Auto, TPIK or AES? Try TPIK or AES only?
- In all modes
   - Fix WPA ,WPA2  or in Auto Mode
   - On All mode : TKIP ,AES and TPIK or AES.
   - I'll test this evening in WEP only mode. ( but this is not the purpose )

What happens if you use Mixed All Modes?
-The same. A - B - G but not the N mode (  Ipad and iTouch does not support the N mode )

Do you see this with Channel Width set for Auto?
- Yes , also i tested this with Auto and Manual mode on Ch6 and others.

Wireless Band :5GHz Band : Not used this does not work with Ipad/Itouch

To be honest, this router isn't the only one having issues with Apple devices. I'm seeing this across the board on most DLink routers. Wondering if there is DLink issue or if this could be a Apple issue.
--> i can't find anything on the apple forums

Great information.
I would ping both moderators on here and send them a PM. It's go guarantee they will say anything or do anything however I would stress to them that there could be issues and you feel that these are Apple vs Dlink issues being seen.

The more we let DLink know about this, maybe, just maybe they will act on it and find resolution on this subject.

Any progress in this matter? I experience instability with my DIR-855 and iPad 2...
The WLAN connection falls out every 3-5 minutes... really annoying...

Just curious if the iPad looses connection if you turn off wireless security to test? Let us know what happens.

i have the same situation on my 855, i believe this is a structural problem of this router.
I have a lot of errors, more in 5gHz interface and i checked different wireless configuration without results.

This is the third dir-855 that dlink support replaces me...  :o but the error level is equal in Wireless Statistics

What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under router.
What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on routers web page under status.

What wireless modes are you using?
Try single mode G or mixed G and N?
What security mode are you using? WEP, WPA or WPA2? Preferred is WPA-Personal. WPA2/Auto TPIK and AES.
What wireless devices do you have connected?
Any cordless house phones?
Any other WiFi routers in the area?
Turn off Short GI and Extra Wireless Protection if you have it. Under Advanced/Advanced Wireless.
Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing.
Turn off all devices accept for one wired PC while testing.

Some things to try:
Ensure DNS IP addresses are being filled in under Setup/Internet/Manual? You can find these under Status/Device Info/Wan section.
Turn off ALL QoS (DIR only) GameFuel (DGL only and if ON.) options. Advanced/QoS or Gamefuel.
Turn off Advanced DNS Services if you have this option under Setup/Internet/Manual.
Turn on DNS Relay under Setup/Networking.
Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices on the router. Setup/Networking
Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.
Set Firewall settings to Endpoint Independent for TCP and UDP.

What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on routers web page under status. 1.23EU

What wireless modes are you using? I made a test for all the options
Try single mode G or mixed G and N? I made a test for all the options
What security mode are you using? WEP, WPA or WPA2? Preferred is WPA-Personal. WPA2/Auto TPIK and AES. I made a test for all the options
What wireless devices do you have connected? PC, iphone/ipad
Any cordless house phones? yes but not near to AP
Any other WiFi routers in the area? yes
Turn off Short GI and Extra Wireless Protection if you have it. Under Advanced/Advanced Wireless. i will try
Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing. i will try
Turn off all devices accept for one wired PC while testing. ok

Some things to try:
Ensure DNS IP addresses are being filled in under Setup/Internet/Manual? You can find these under Status/Device Info/Wan section.
Turn off ALL QoS (DIR only) GameFuel (DGL only and if ON.) options. Advanced/QoS or Gamefuel. done

Turn on DNS Relay under Setup/Networking. done
Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices on the router. Setup/Networking done
Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.done
Set Firewall settings to Endpoint Independent for TCP and UDP. i use 855 as AP

in any cases, i've another AP Tp-link, very fast and very easy to setup, i used it in the same place without ERRORS, so i believe that isn't normal to have errors.
