DCS-932L and security concerns with MyDlink
« on: July 20, 2011, 01:41:05 PM »

I've just got a new DCS-932L.  The initial config is a breeze, but I'm a bit skeptical about using MyDlink.  I'm not crazy about using a free service to monitor the cameras inside my home.  There's really no way to know if someone else can get to the cameras - D-Link employee or otherwise.  Granted, there's the same concern with paid services, but this is just too easy.

Has anyone thought about this and maybe thought of an alternative?

I share your sentiments. At the very least I expected mydlink to offer the ability to create guest accounts to allow temporary access. As it stands, there is only one set of credentials for all viewers. D-Link claims to lack the capacity to view video feeds on mydlink, but who knows...
