Hello,

I seem unable to use email notifications with gmail. i'm very sure my password is correct.
smtp: smtp.gmail.com
port: 587

What could be the issue? When I click "Send mail now" button, it says "Mail setn already, but I'm not receiving anything...

Thanks for any help solving this.

Hello FurryNutz,

Thanks for the fast reply.

I seem to have hardware revision A. I just upgraded from firmware 1.07 (factory) to firmware 1.09, but I still don't receive any emails. I'm located in Belgium Ghent, ISP Telenet Cable / Fibre. Wired connection to the router.

I have a Motorola Docsis Cable Modem.

What is the Model # of the ISP modem? Just checking to see if you have single NAT or double NAT condition.
Where did you download the FW update from? For your region you should be loading it using the auto update check on the router. Not from the NA region.

It's a single NAT condition. The ISP modem gets four external available IP adresses.
I downloaded the firmware from the gui of the router.

I seem to have another issue the MAC filtering is on ALLOW and I just connected with a device whose MAC address is not in the list and is apparently still able to browse the Internet!

Does adding the device to the Mac Filter list and selecting DENY work?

Denying my laptop does seem to work... After reapplying global DENY with ALLOW hosts, it seemed to almost work, but then I couldn't access interface anymore from my home computer. Seems like this thing is really unstable.. :s
Now 30 minutes later I go again to network filter and it seems the list I created is empty!

I just bought this device 2 days ago. can someone tell me why I shouldn't reurn it to the shop where I bought it?

Ok so can you add those devices that you want to DENY only and see if that works?
You might need to set up a schedule maybe to allow or deny connections if these device have a specific time frame they CAN be Allowed to connect...

Furry,

Why on earth would I want a schedule. Edited my last post, all the entries and mac adresses I entered are gone! I just bought this device 2 days ago. can someone tell me why I shouldn't return it to the shop where I bought it? We have a 7 day return policy here in Belgium. At this time I'm truly NOT happy with this product.. :( And saying I'm a system administrator. I do know what i'm doing. This dlink just isn't working as advertized.

Thanks for the help anyway Furry!

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.

Well I tried on more time entering all my mac adresses and it seems 'stable' at this time. Any idea why the email notifications are not working? I was thinking maybe it has something to do with two factor authentication on my Google account? Are there any other known issues with Gmail and Dlink?

Again, thanks for the help Furry.

Possible configuration issue between the email settings and Gmail. Is Gmail your primary ISP email provider or does your ISP handle there own email system? I have seen some ISP not relay emails from routers to 3rd party email sites like Gmail. If your ISP has a email system, can you configure the router to use there ISP email configuration to see if the router can send to your ISP email service instead of Gmail?

Yes they do have their own email system. Put smtp.telenet.be with my Telenet account and pw and it works. Thanks FurryNutz.
