Title: D-Links DCS-7110 keeps dropping frames
Post by: domelsnake on July 15, 2015, 07:06:48 AM
Hello there,

Both my D-Link DCS-7110 cameras are configured for Motion Detection, 720p resolution, 30fps and dropping frames.

Is there any way to get these cameras working as they should or the only way is to buy a different band camera?

My setup:

2x DCS-7110 connected with CAT.6 ethernet cables to D-Link 1GB PoE switch where my Synology (1x WD Purple 6TB HDD) is connected too.

The whole network is running on 1GB.

Synology server is not struggling at all when both cameras are recording (CPU, RAM, HDD usage very low).

Synology 215J is designed to work work with max 10 IP cameras configured in 720p 30fps and I have only 2x cameras connected.

In the beginning I was blaming everything but not the cameras - now I can see it is the camera issue.

Is there anything I can do to get this fixed or get all D-Link devices replaced by more reliable brand?

I'm based in UK.

Can you view the cams directly with frame loss (or at least the perception of frame loss by watching the image and time stamp)?

Hi there,

Yes, the frames are also being dropped when in live view directly on the camera.
