Title: HTTP Folder Download Is it possible?
Post by: mcduarte2000 on November 13, 2009, 03:12:43 AM
I tried to download a folder using http and the system always overwrites the folder option and makes it "file". Is this a limitation of the software or some bug on my system firmware?

What firmware are you running? Exactly what are you doing and what feature are you using on the DNS-323?

The DNS-323 does not have an http file server. So any attempts to direct link to files on the nas passing through the web server will not work.

I was trying to download files from a webserver on the internet. My idea was to download weekly, automatically some SQL backup files using the option: http://192.168.0.199/web/user/download_scheduling.asp.

You have two options

1. Use 323's built in FTP server. Just create a share and assign rights and you are good to go. Just FTP either manually, or cron it from another server.
2. Install fun_plug to run lighthttp. You can expose your files via HTTP this way. I'm not sure if lighthttp supports authentication, but if it does than you do it securely.
