Making the connection
« on: February 06, 2022, 08:45:54 PM »

Hello,

I'm coming here in desperation.
You know the score. D-Link is reluctant to help with discontinued products,
despite my being a faithful customer.

In this case I have six (6) of these cameras!

Years ago I had them all working properly when I connected with another D-Link product, one
of their wifi-routers..

I only used that router when I was not home, because its strong signals hurt my head!

Fast forward to today.
I use a much smaller weaker wifi-router occasionally. It doesn't hurt my head.
It's downside is that it only has one ethernet connector, which connects to my cable connection.

Here's my problem.
I am able to run the setup program.
When I get to the part where I choose "Use camera with wifi"
I am asked to choose my wifi router from a drop-down list.

At one time (don't remember how I did it) I was able to see my router in the list.
Now it is not showing up.
So I choose 'Other'
I type in the name of my router.
Then it asks for my router password.
I'm not 100% sure which it is, (one of two).
I get past the password part and it asks me to disconnect the cable.
When I disonnect the cable the green light goes orange and I'm stuck!!!
It isn't connecting to the wifi signal.

A few months ago I used the exact same equipment and SOMEHOW
I was able to get the camera to work, so I know it can be done.
The problem is I forgot what I did.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
