And now Virtual server seems to work.

I didn't get port forwarding working but Virtual server seems to do the same job? :)

Good to hear man.
Port Forwarding is probably working however to check that the ports are open, you've got to have something using them and while the application is running, then check the status.

VS is better for use.

Hope it works well. Enjoy.

What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
What ISP Modem do you have? Stand Alone or built in router?
What ISP Modem make and model do you have?
If this modem has a built in router, it's best to bridge the modem. Having 2 routers on the same line can cause connection problems.
To tell if the modem is bridged or not, look at the routers web page, Status/Device Info/Wan Section, if there is a 192.168.0.# address in the WAN IP address field, then the modem is not bridged.
If the modem can't be bridged then see if the modem has a DMZ option and input the IP address the router gets from the modem and put that into the modems DMZ.

Hi there from the Netherlands,

I'am having simular problems like BOCCAA describes.
I have the D-link DIR855 router now for almost 2 years and I am quiet happy with it. It functioned always correctly without any problem.
But now, when I tried to connect a recently purchased wireless IP Camera (ELRO C903IP = the same as Foscam FI8904W) I am having problems with my DIR855...

When I setup the IP cam by connecting it (wired) to a LAN port of my DIR855 and configured the wireless settings in the IP Camera Tool, the IP cam works fine.
But when I (like the IP cam manual says) disconnect the network-cable between the IP cam and my DIR855 to get the IP cam working wireless, the IP Camera Tool don't get a IP-nr. at all (for wireless connection) and I can't connect to the IP cam on my PC.

This is very strange, because when I setup the same configuration with my old Draytek Vigor 2900 wireless router (instead of the DIR855), the IP cam immediatly get's an IP-nr. for wireless connection when I disconnect the network-cable between the IP cam and the Draytek router.

So I guess that this problem must be found in the settings of my DIR855 router
I already tried many settings (portforwarding, virtual server, disable/enable DNS relay, Firewall settings to Endpoint independent, DMZ) in my DIR855, but I can't solve the problem... :(

My ISP service is Cable (UPC)
My modem: ARRIS TM402B (stand alone modem with phone function)

My D-Link DIR855 router: hardware version A2 / Firmware version 1.12EU
I know there is newer firmware for my DIR855, but I also read that this newer firmware could give problems (freeze up and restarting many times) and if so, I can't role back to the older, working firmware.

I hope somebody can help me to get the right settings in my DIR855 so I can get my IP Cam working wireless.

Many thanks in advance.

Link>Welcome!
What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
What ISP Modem do you have? Stand Alone or built in router?
What ISP Modem make and model do you have?

Some things to try:
Turn off ALL QoS or Disable Traffic Shaping (DIR only) GameFuel (DGL only and if ON.) options. Advanced/QoS or Gamefuel.
Turn off Advanced DNS Services if you have this option under Setup/Internet/Manual.
Turn on DNS Relay under Setup/Networking.
Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices ON the router. Setup/Networking
Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.
Set Firewall settings to Endpoint Independent for TCP and UDP under Advanced/Firewall.

Enable uPnP and Multi-cast Streaming under Advanced/Networking.

Link>Wireless Installation Considerations
What wireless modes are you using? Under Setup/Wireless/Manual.
Try single mode G or mixed G and N on 2.4Ghz and single mode N on 5Ghz?
Channel Width set for Auto 20/40Mhz or try 20Mhz only.
Try setting a manual channel to a open or unused channel. 1, 6 or 11. 11 for single mode N if the channel is clear.
What security mode are you using? Preferred security is WPA-Personal. WPA2/AES Only. Some WiFi adapters don't support AES, so you might want to try TPIK only or Auto.

What wireless devices do you have connected?
Any cordless house phones?
Any other WiFi routers in the area? Link> Use InSSIDer to find out. How many?
Turn off WISH, and WPS under Advanced.
Try turning off Short GI, WLAN Partition, and Extra Wireless Protection if you have it. Under Advanced/Advanced Wireless.

Hi FurryNutz,

Thanx for your quick reply.
I think that my problem is solved  ;D ;D ;D thanx to your advise!!!

I already tried some of your suggestions, but the trick that make ik work, was to switch the manual wireless channel setting to channel 1.
Auto channel setting didn't work...
There are about 6 other WiFi routers in my area.

I 'am very happy that the IP camera is working wireless now.
Thank you very much.
