DIR-655 Traffic or Bandwidth Meter
« on: December 09, 2009, 08:05:49 PM »

Anyone know if D-Link ever plans to add network traffic meters to the home routers?   I beleive Netgear has indicated it plans to include this feature in all new routers.

With Comcast's plans to start limiting and shaping traffic, it would be nice to try to determine if they will be honest.

Does anyone know of a logger that accesses the DIR-655 to capture network traffic quantity?

The caps went into affect October 2008.

Comcast is now testing a usage meter.

Link to caps info: Frequently Asked Questions about Excessive Use

At the bottom of the page you will find info about the usage meter.

No, the only way to do so is either use a client based counter or place a central server in the middle of the LAN. Some ADSL/cable modems offer this feature, but the count will be reset after a reboot.
