Good Afternoon All,
Has something changed with the app that google home uses and the cameras, what was working (very well before) now keeps coming up with "It looks like the stream is currently unavailable" error.

What camera model(s) are you using?
I will ask a tech to test today.
-
DCS-8000LH and DCS8525LH - the exact error is "It looks like the stream is currently unavailable from...". I already linked and unlinked the the account just in case. It was working fine Friday and when I tried to use it again Monday I got the error.
-
Can you tell me what firmware versions you have on the cameras? I know the 8xxxLH line's latest firmware included a "google home dropping video" fix but wondering if it broke something. I have a tech investigating this today.
-
2.01.03 for the stationary cameras and 1.02.02 for the moveable. All cameras set for auto-upgrade of firmware.
-
I too am having this error - was working fine about a week ago - then POOF - gone. Thought my router bricked.
-
Techs are asking what "google" devices are you using, what version google app, and what devices/OS you are running the app on.
-
The Google Home Hub with the dlink app for it installed.
-
The app is called mydlink smart and I can't see a version for it.
-
The mydlink Smart is the "skill" for google home. To find the google home app version, open it and tap the Account icon (lower right corner) and then tap App Info at the bottom.
-
I too have the 2.01.03 (DCS-8000LH) - and using mydlink Version 1.5.4 Build 148. However, to the point GreenBay42 and myself are making - it is the voice command through Google Home Assistant that used to stream the feed to my chromecast device. That doesn't work. For the google stuff I have, Google Home v.2.8.15.6 - with 2 mini's and a google home device(s). Chromecasts are version 2.
-
So the camera is pairing ok with Google home app but just making it stream via voice is not.
-
The Google home app version is 2.8.107 and the Mydlink Smart has no version on it. All it allows me to do is link or unlink it from the Google store.
-
This is on a iOS device that I am running the Google Home app, not a Android device.
-
Yes the pair works fine and is seen in the app, nothing is offline it just won't initiate the stream...
-
Still waiting for a response. I probably wont until next week due to Chinese new year which the Taiwan office is closed for a week.
-
Yes, it just won't initiate the stream - like mentioned - it was working fine before. Cheers.
-
You may want to call tech support to get this "in the system". I emailed the camera group so hopefully they can test. Unfortunately I do not have any google devices to test right now.
Everything else works normal except streaming video to a device via voice...correct?
-
Correct
-
Same problem here with a new camera on 2.01.03. It actually worked when I first installed the camera so I think the latest firmware update killed the Google home integration.
-
Thanks no1knows. I have created a ticket but unfortunately with Chinese new year I will not get any reply until next week.
-
I agree with the firmware point...
-
Just called tech support in the UK and was given a case ID.
-
Glad that you raised a ticket no1knows - let us know if it gets resolved. I appreciated finding this thread (thx bckrisch) - otherwise I was about to re-build the whole network and re-install everything.
-
I had to reissue the ticket with DTrack this morning. Not sure what happened but made the new ticket highest priority so should hear back tomorrow.
Anyone have any resolution or feedback from support?
-
Nothing yet :-[

I got word back that they did not have any issues streaming. Tested multiple cameras and google accounts.
They sent a video showing me that it is working. They said "google....show me the DCS" and it showed up on their tv. I am still trying to get our google products and a tv set up here. The techs move their lab here so waiting for it to get finished and the TV connected. ::)
They asked what voice command are you using and what is the exact message from google.
Do other voice commands work?
-
Personally I have not tried other voice commands - I just was using the voice command for streaming to TV's from dlink cameras.
-
Show <camera name> on <chromecast enabled device name>.
"It seems that the stream is unavailable right now".
Worked before.
-
And for me its the Google Home Hub
-
DTrack team still cannot reproduce this issue.
They are asking if you could you provide your Mydlink account login info and let them sync with their Google Home Assistant and see if the issue can be reproduced?
If you are, i recommend changing the password and have the camera pointing to a suitable location. They are in Taiwan so they would access it in the middle of the night for you. if interested please private message me.

Hi, I can't do this I'm afraid, but has anyone offered? The issue remains :(
-
Yes another user has volunteered. This is always difficult when the engineers cannot replicate the issue. I wish there was a way to downgrade the firmware on the 8000LH camera.
-
Just got two DCS-8000LH, I have a google home mini and two chromecasts.
I have the exact same issue. "the stream is unavailable"
I contacted google home support. They made me do a bunch of stuff for troubleshooting but nothing fixed the problem. They were very helpful though and definitely wanted to fix the issue. Hopefully they will contact D-Link since it seems to bother them that the product is advertised as Google Assistant compatible and at the moment it's actually not.

Good news. Have they now managed to repro the issue? Any idea on fix timings?
-
The user has not responded back with his login info. I have communicated with the D-Track team but seems we are at a standstill. I apologize for the slow process. The techs here are unable to test it currently (long story).
I encourage everyone to call tech support in their country and report the issue. I will keep pushing.

Ok all - sorry for the long delay between posts - I do have an update. If it ask google home TWICE - it fails the first time then the stream works seamlessly the second time. Odd - almost assuming network latency - but, that is my work-around.
B.
-
Buckaroo2010, you're absolutely right, it works the second time.
Congratulations on the discovery!!
-
And if you go to the Google Home App and click on the camera, press back and click on the camera again, it also works!
