DIR-880L and DD-WRT in repeater or access point
« on: August 17, 2019, 02:02:58 AM »

Anyone using DIR-880L in Repeater or Access Point?

I have running them:  (all have daily sched reboot)
a) Access Point - Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r38132a quarkysg-std (12/30/18).  I have 2 setup with this firmware for 1 year and working great.

b) Repeater Mode - Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r30432 std (08/16/16).  I have one setup with 5Ghz as RP and broadcast 2Ghz.  2 years plus and is stable.  Unable to use any firmware after 30432, it wont work.  30432 is flawless but have some security issue due to older version.

Thinking of upgrading firmware again, but these are heavily used at home plus some IOT too.
Anyone here using DD-WRT and which version you are using for more than 3 months at least. ?

yeah, I maybe create an account there to ask too :)
just checking if there are hardcore 880L followers here,
I have several 868L/880L in dd-wrt (AP or repeater) and they worked great and cheap too in 2nd hand market.

My next target is real Mesh (e.g. covr) as I want Video calling to be smooth.  Then keep IOT in old network

I am using DD-WRT v3.0-r44715 std on my D-Link Dir880L.
It is configured as a switch and wireless Access Point.

Wireless 5G and 2.4G
