New DGL-5500 v1.11B03NA FW Released
« on: October 25, 2013, 06:56:52 PM »

Ok, here it is, lots of goodies:
http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=56261.0

NOTE: I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DOING A FACTORY RESET BEFORE SENDING THE FW FILE, THEN ONE MORE AFTER SENDING THE FW FILE, THEN SET UP THE ROUTER FROM SCRATCH WITH OUT RE-LOADING ANY SAVED CONFIG FILES. Reason being is that there are many new features and changes to the router and loading a previously saved configuration from file could and might cause problems due to the differences in changes. Please set up the router from scratch after loading the new FW and doing one more factory reset.

Let us know how it works for you.

Please post your experiences here and list your fixes here if any, and I'll adjust the Features Request and Bugs thread.

Lets get crackin people.  ;D

Thank you D-Link.

Loaded it last night. No performance issues yet though I haven't spent much to e on that.

I had a lot of issues configuring specifically with browser compatibility. Firefox 24 won't login in (authorization failed) every time. Tried it with password and no password (after factory reset). Also, the latest Chrome version will not let me change priorities of devices. The page loads fine but can't move the devices up or down. It works fine with the latest version of IE. If I have time today I will try and a complete reset and start from scratch again to is if that "fixes" things. I might try reloading the FW again though i didnt' have a problem with that last night. Just wanted to share.

I can confirm the Chrome issue of not being able to change the priorities. Just updated to 1.11 and all went well in Chrome until the priority page.

Web Browser Configurations
Try Opera or FF? If IE 8 or 9, set compatibility mode and test again.
Try turning off these features in Chrome:
Top right corner, little bars for options > Settings > Settings (on left) > Show advanced settings.
Uncheck these:
Use a web service to help resolve navigation errors
Use a prediction service to help complete searches and URLs typed in the address bar
Predict network actions to improve page load performance
Enable phishing and malware protection

I can confirm with Safari and FF v24 in OSX 10.8.5 that the UI is working. I set up last night using Safari in OSX 10.7.5.

Ill try with windows 7 when i get home. My router doesn't have a PW at the moment for ease of use while testing.

That fixed the chrome issue but still no luck logging into Firefox 24. Authentication failed.

Thanks. I have tried it with and without a PW and still the same problem. Since all other browsers work (is, chrome, safari) I am thinking it is a security setting with Firefox. I am guessing other maybe having or fixed the same issues. A quick Google search came up empty.

I just downloaded v24.0 of FF and installed it on a Windows 7x32 box...I can log into the router successfully using PW or without.  Can change priorities and save settings too. ::)

I just don't know. I rolled back to FF 23 and the same thing. I didn't use Firefox at all with the other FW. I may try re-installing FF and/or router FW tonight. This is not a huge deal for me as I use Chrome more often.

I don't mind doing that for Chrome, as it's not a big deal, but changing priorities was working fine for me in the beta firmware.  I had 'use web service...' already unchecked, but the rest were checked and again there was no issue in the last available beta firmware.  Just for information, not looking for a change or complaining.

What does the button "Enable Auto Bandwidth Estimation (Checking this box will enable testing that will consume bandwidth beyond normal usage)" really do ?

I checked it but see no differences. Can anyone explain what is the purpose of this function ?

P/s: I still get a bug of the UI will not display the clients if they are more than 50-80 clients.

The Statistic page will also get error of not getting any data after the above problem happened.

I just downloaded Chrome and Opera Next for my Windows 7x32 box. Both open the routers web page correctly with a PW and both can changed various settings including priorities with out any problems.

I reinstalled firefox and it works now. I think it might have been an add-on or extension. Thanks for your help Furry.
