860L Firmware Version : 1.10 Wont port forward
« on: August 14, 2015, 08:24:50 AM »

I used stock firmware and the updated one.
It will not open ports Used Virtual server and port forwarding together and separate.

Worked with my old Asus DDWRT router just fine,

Network info:

Modem:
Cisco DPC3008 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem
to
860L

And a couple switches.

Nothing i have tried worked.

Anay settings i should look at?

Enable UPnP IGD is disabled

Thanks in advanced,

Jason

Link>Welcome!

  • What region are you located?
  • Are you wired or wireless connected to the router?
  • Was a Factory Reset performed before and after any firmware updates then set up from scratch?
  Link> >FW Update Process

Router and Wired Configurations
Some things to try: - Log into the routers web page at 192.168.0.1. Use IE, Opera or FF to manage the router. Be sure to log into the Admin account on the router.
  • Turn off Advanced DNS Services if you have this option under Setup/Internet/Manual or under Setup/PARENTAL CONTROL/Set to>None: Static IP or Obtain Automatically From ISP.
  • Enable or Disable Use Unicasting (compatibility for some ISP DHCP Servers) and test under Setup/Internet/Manual. Disable may help with speed performance on higher speed ISP services.
  • Turn on or off DNS Relay under Setup/Networking. Link>Finding Faster DNS Addresses using Name Bench and input new DNS addresses under Setup/Internet/Manual.
  • Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices ON the router. Setup/Networking. This ensures each devices gets its own IP address when turned on and connected, eliminates IP address conflicts and helps in troubleshooting and maintain consistency for applications that need to connect as well as mapped drives.
  • Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.
  • If IPv6 is an option on the router, select Local Connection Only under Setup/IPv6.
  • Set Firewall settings to Endpoint Independent for TCP and UDP under Advanced/Firewall. Enable or Disable SPI to test.
  • Enable uPnP and Multi-cast Streaming under Advanced/Networking. Disable uPnP for testing Port Forwarding rules. Enable IPv6 Multi-cast Streaming for routers that have a Media Server option. Disable IPv6 Multi-cast Streaming if IPv6 or Media Server is not being used.

Virtual Server or Port Forwarding have to be used independently from each other when using same port numbers. I presume they can be used together if the port numbers differ...

What are you using to determine port usage?
What application are you using that needs port configurations?

Are these D-Link cameras or other Mfr?
What is the Mfr name of the NVR

You might try setting up a QoS rule and set the ports used to 0 thru 65535 and see if this does anything with out setting up any Virtual Server or PF rules first. Look at the OTHER DEVICES rule as an example here:
 Gaming and QoS for XBL

Then try Virtual Server should work with uPnP enabled, Port Forwarding needs uPnP disabled.

There may be a problem with the router or in FW. I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email. You can reference this thread if you like.
Let us know how it goes please.

yes isp modem directly to pc.  I checked a few ports all blocked.  With the isp modem directly wired all ports should be open..  no?

Are you actively using the ports when checking port status? You have to be using them to check status to get correct results. If the ports are closed when using the ISP modem directly then I recommend talking to the ISP again. Let them know that your directly connected to the modem.
