Title: DNR-202L - Issue
Post by: pogmothon on January 31, 2014, 02:59:33 AM
I have been struggling with getting direct external access to the DNR202L for the past few days, with occasional success.  The problem appears to me to be that we can't set the HTTP (and HTTPS) ports for the DNR202L, such that by default it uses 80 and 443, but these are also the default ports for other uses.  With the cameras I have, (DCS-942L and DCS-522L), these can all be set (and the RTSP port also, though I don't know what this might affect), so that port forwarding within the router can be done without any chance of confusion.  So, would it be possible to have a "Setup" "Network" page with the same options as in (say) the DCS-942L, so that the user could choose the HTTP and HTTPS ports (internal and external)?

(As an aside, I think it is a good idea to always ensure Skype is turned off when trying to log directly (from outside) to the DNR-202L, even though I have unchecked the box "Use ports 80 and 443 as alternatives for incoming connections" in the Skype-Options-Advanced-Connection page.

I should clarify that I am a complete novice at this, and make progress only by stumbling along in the dark, so if anything I have said above is rubbish, I would be glad to know.
