Lost my setup cd.
« on: September 08, 2010, 06:53:18 PM »

So long story short, i moved and have lost the cd, but had to switch routers because my old one was not compatible with the laptop, and now since ive returned the laptop i am hoping there is a way to set up my old router without the setup cd, i have a cd for the model DIR-615, but the router im trying to set up once again is the DIR-655. Any suggestions or ways to get my hands on a new set up cd?

Go to
ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Gateway/dir655/Apps/
and download the router setup.

or.... you can configure the router manually without the need of a router wizard.

go to ftp.dlink.com.... no www or http....
then, click Gateway
click DIR-655
click Apps
click RouterSetup_dir655_410.exe

You are way better off without using the CD.  Do your setup manually.
If you use the CD you install the lousy dlink connection manager which causes frequent disconnects.  Use the "Windows" connection manager exclusively and do not install the dlink at all for best results.
