Title: DHP-306AV DHP-W306AV no power line connection
Post by: alanrb on August 26, 2013, 12:18:56 PM
Hi I have been happily been using these devices for several months now. One day the W306AV started blinking it's blue light (wps/eny). No other lights at all. I called tec support several times and it was declared defective. In the mean time I found a fix online for another dlink router. Turn on power button-Push in and hold reset button-plug device in-keep holding reset for 10sec.
This seemed to bring my w306av back to life. I can login over LAN or wifi, save settings, etc. The only problem is that I can not establish a power line connection. I have reset the devices every way possible. There is not much I can do to the 306av except check it with the dlink powerline utility. D-link support will no longer help me because my w306av has been deemed defective. Are there any other tricks out there to determine which device is actually defective now, blink codes etc? There is not much info out there about what various button holds do etc. The support did have me hold down the Eny button for more than 10 sec and it seemed to do some sort of reset, but I cant find documentation on this.
Any help before I send the item back would be great.

Have you reset both units while plugged into same room outlets to set first? Plug both into out let in same room to see if they can connect after doing the button reset.

Hi, I am in Canada. Yes I have tried it all in the same room. The w306av flashes the home light green during its power up. The 306av does not.

Hi my D-link DHP-W306AV wireless router just started acting up a few days ago.  I could connect to it but it would not connect to the internet (basically a power line connection was not established).  I had a power light and another light, but after trying resets, now I do not get any lights.  Yes, the power button is pushed in (turned on) and I get the blinking blue light (wps/eny).  I fear it has died.  If anyone has any ideas that would be great.  I've owned this for about 2 years so no RMA is available.  Overall I've been happy with it. Thanks, Brian

Can you do factory resets on the router and other units and place them in the same room and will it connect when in the same room?
