Network shares / Ajaxplorer / Plugin / DDNS
« on: May 09, 2011, 10:37:23 AM »

Referring to my previous thread http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?board=276.20 I'm going to ask probably some stupid questions...

The reason I bought the DNS 320 was to have a back up of / synchronise my PC content (will try Allway sync as suggested in other threads), to access my data from distance, to give access to some stuff to others outside my network and eventually hosting my website (SQL). Before purchase I understood above would be feasible even for an ignorant person as me.

As stated before, I can even not set the shares  :-[, apparently because my files are in Ajaxplorer. But what is the use of Ajaxplorer application if I can't set shares within it? Should I not use that application? What is the right way with regards to my use as described above? Is FTP good enough?

I have seen a lot about the Fonz fun plugin, but couldn't figure out what it exactly does and what the use is. Can anyone enlight me?

Some time ago I managed to set the DDNS to work. Now I'm getting the error: "update failure" and I'm not seeing what I'm doing wrong...

I can keep on going researching on the net or manuals, play, try, but the conclusion is, I can use any help in setting up my NAS (preferably by baby steps  ;D).

Thanks in advance!

Since the issue with structuring the content (Ajaxplorer) is solved http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=38570.0, consequently the network share/user account mgmt issue, by chance and after many hours, I also solved my DDNS question, which leaves me with my curiosity about the Fonz fun plugin. Could someone tell me more about that plugin (the purpose at least)?
Thanks to all!
