Connected Clients List

Forgive me if this has been answered somewhere, but I did not see it (although I will admit that I am not very good at navigating forums like these):

I just purchased a DIR-859 Router.  In my previous routers (NetGear), I would set up Static IP Addresses in a "Address Reservation" area on the routers web I/F.  I understand that on this D-Link, that it is done in the "Connected Clients" area, which seems to work fine.

Is there any way to "freeze" the "Connected Clients" page so that the client list is not constantly changing?  My previous routers had a "Refresh" button so you could update manually.  I find it difficult to locate a particular IP Address of a new device because the icons for each device are moving around.  I can't tell how (or if) they are sorting on some field.

Thanks for any help or explanation you can provide!

* What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under the router case.
* Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.
* What region are you located?
I believe the connected clients list is a on a constant refresh rate and you can't pause it. Possible that the router is detecting some devices in a bad way, the list should populate and shouldn't be moving around a lot afterwards.

What devices do you have connected?

Sorry it took so long for my reply.  I just realized that I had to turn on notifications for replies to this topic!

Hardware Version is A3,  Firmware Version is 1.05, I live in the Kansas City, MO area.

I have two cell phones, two tablets, two DVD players, Tivo, Samsung TV, a laptop, desktop PC, a Raspberry Pi Plex and File server, three Raspberry Pi security cameras, a  Wansview IP Camera, and Arlo-Q Security Camera, two printers, a NEST thermostat, and an old iPod.

The changes do seem to settle down after a while, but every 5-10 seconds, their positions will change, which makes it hard for me to find a particular one that I might be looking for.  I can't really determine how (or if) they are being sorted in some way or not.  I am also confused by the symbols on the left edge.  Most have what appear to by a "monitor" symbol, but a couple of them have the standard "wireless" symbol along with a signal strength meter icon nearer the bottom.  All of the cameras are Wi-Fi connections, as well as the phones, laptop, thermostat, iPod and one of the printers, so I would have expected many more of them to have the "Wireless" symbol.

Thank you so much for your interest and help!

You might give the new beta FW a try and see if any changes the behavior and or icon display. I would reset the router first, install the FW file. Factory reset once more then set up from scratch. Use IE11 or FF browser for this operation.

What browser do you normally use?

rodelco:
I typically use Chrome, but I do have IE 11 installed.

Interestingly, since you mentioned IE 11, I thought I would log in to the router using it to see the Connected Clients.  I don't know if it coincidental or not, bu it appears to be stable.  When I first logged in it said there were 18 connected clients.  After about 10 seconds I say it change, and now there are 19 connected clients, so that is understandable.

So, I then logged in to using Chrome (while still logged in with IE 11), and in Chrome, it is frequently updating!  I don't understand any of this, but it looks like using IE 11 might be the easiest solution for me, so thanks!

Do you have any idea how the Client List is sorted, or when the icons on the left side of each one indicates?
