compatibility issue with HDs
« on: February 24, 2010, 11:19:02 AM »

Hi there,

We have a compatibility issue with WD green 1To HDs and this device.
I was wondering if someone could tell me if these 2 hard-drives are supported by the DNS-343?

Seagate
part # ST31000528AS

WD
part # WD10000LSRTL

thanks!

Can you elaborate on the compatibility issue? What is happening on the device when inserting the Drives. Are they not being detected?

My WD Green 1T are working fine so far in R5 (more than half year of usage with no issues; fw 1.02):

PHYSICAL DISK INFO :
Slot    Vendor    Model    Serial Number    Size
1    WDC    WD10EADS-00L5B1    WD-WCAU46815201    1000 G
2    WDC    WD10EADS-00L5B1    WD-WCAU46815232    1000 G
3    WDC    WD10EADS-00L5B1    WD-WCAU46816511    1000 G
4    WDC    WD10EADS-00L5B1    WD-WCAU46799766    1000 G

Maybe yours are different model.

I have 1 WD10EADS and 3 WD10EAVS.
I would have prefered to have 4 of the same kind, but they were backorder.

so you say that the EADS worked fine for you?

any clue about the EAVS?

any feedback about using different model drives together?

thank you all very much for your help, it`s appreciated.

There have been reports on these boards of EAVS working as well I believe. Try the search function and see what comes up.

Btw, how is your "compatibility issue" like? Please elaborate on the symptoms/manifestation of this incompatibility.
