Oops... I bricked my router
« on: September 11, 2009, 04:13:54 PM »

I got careless with flashing FWare from 1.10 to 1.12 and I turned my lovely VPN router into a switch.

Here's were I stand:
- No stat light.  No DHCP.
- Reset gives nothing.  Doesn't even flash the lights.
- Manual config IP to 192.168.0.23 (Michael Jordan) and web into 192.168.0.1 gave a text screen prompting for FWare file location.  After assigning location it never returned to me.  (sniff, sniff, tear!)

Haven't called tech yet.  Came here first.  Any ideas before I have to box it up?

Also, I have another one here on my desk and did not want to give it the same fate.  Is there a good FWare procedure that I should follow.  I made the above mentioned paperweight after the firmware update button in the GUI failed to serve me and the manual load wouldn't take.

Thanks for any input.

If you can't load firmware from that screen box it up.
