FTP issue
« on: August 16, 2011, 10:12:56 AM »

Hi guys!

Hope someone can help me understand this problem i am having with setting up an FTP with DDNS.

I use dlinkddns service (which is basically DynDNS), and there are 2 fields with IP values in there - IP in DNS, and Browser IP. Now, as i understand, i should set the IP in DNS to the static IP i have given my NAS - correct? And the Browser IP is my external IP, and should be updated automatically?
The Browser IP updates fine, whenever i get a new IP from my ISP, but whenever it updates the external Browser IP, it releases the static IP of my NAS/FTP and updates it to the external IP. Why does it do that?
Why doesn't it remember the static value that i have given it?

This is the setup:
D-Link DNS-323 configured with FTP and DDNS.
ICE.net D-35 router configured with DDNS and port 21 and all passive ports reported by the DNS opened.

What i can see, there is no update client i can configure on the router or the DNS-323, but since the Browser IP is updated in dlinkddns/DynDNS, shouldn't it be some built in updater somewhere?

Hope someone can help!
