Hi. I just got a D-Link DIR-825 that comes with an USB connection. It uses SAMBA. I added the HD and I can access it using a PC just calling the IP of the router and the User/Pass.
I tried the MAC forum but no answer. I was wondering if someone here could help me.
On my MacBook Air, I can see the unit, but when I try to open it, it asks for credential and gives me the following error:

More details to help troubleshooting:

The Unit appears in the Network Location

I tried command k and any combination bellow

in either case, I get to the same You are Attempting.. message.

And get back to the original issue.

Again, it works fine on PC.
I read for hours searching for a solution, but nothing so far.
P. S. Keychain cleared.
Thanks in advance.

- What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under the router case.
- Link>What Firmware (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=47512.0) version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.
- What region are you located?
Instead of root try the admin log in and pw for the routers web page log in. Root is not valid I think.

Hello @FurryNutz. Thanks for the reply:
H/W Ver.: G1
F/W Ver.: 7.11
Router's webpage goes with Admin.
For storage, I only have the following option:
WINDOWS FILE SHARING (SAMBA)
User Name: root (I can't change it)
Password: currently 123456 (I can change that if I want)
So, I am able to login to the router's page, and I am able to access smb:\\root:123456@192.168.0.1 under WINDOWS. The problem happens on MAC only as I showed in the original post's pictures.
Thanks.
Daniel.

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this.

We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
