About supporting Dual stack IPV6 envirment
« on: August 09, 2018, 08:52:33 AM »

My ISP provide static IP v4 address as internet connection and Windows can get the ipv6 address automaticlly by this connection.
Some other wireless router support IPV6 pass through , all wireless clients could get IPV4 and IPV6 address automaticlly.
But DIR-880L does not work with IPV6 in my environment, only can work with IPV4. my route is A1 with 1.07 firmware.
is there solution to resolve this problem?

Link>Welcome!

  • What region are you located?

Internet Service Provider and Modem Configurations
  • What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
  • What ISP Modem Mfr. and model # do you have?

Does the ISP support IPv6 natively?
Have you set up the IPv6 section in the router? You may want to contact the ISP and ask them if there is any specific configurations for routers using IPv6.

Your behind on FW as well. I would update FW first, then try IPv6 again: Link> >FW Update Process

My ISP privided dual stack IPV6, just provide me one cable with static V4 IP address and gateway, no need any modem and DSL.
I tried setting all IPV6 internet conection options in 880L web setup GUI and update frimware from 1.07 to 1.08. but it does not work yet.
can not get v6 ip like 2001:....address. I don't want to update DD-WRT..
Some other wireless router can work without any special setting or just set IPV6 pass through, but dlink.

I would try a FW update and see, if that fails, you might contact NG support and ask. This router may not support that kind of configuration or maybe needs a FW fix. I don't have IPv6 here so I can't test or verify.

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this.
Link> Tech Support Contact Information
We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.

Good Luck.
