Title: Accessing using HSDPA network - please help
Post by: forbigger on March 02, 2012, 07:04:58 AM
Dear all, I cannot access mydlink account using mydlink lite over HSDPA/3g network. What I got is bad server response message. Im using DIR412 3g router, dlink 3g modem and the camera. My connection speed from the router is around 1.2-1.5mbps and my android connection speed is around 800kbps (measured using speedtest.net) which I believe more than enough fr mobile streaming.

Could it be that the wireless carrier intentionally blocking video streaming?

Another question is that how do I stream using android 3rd party software like IPcam viewer? Or tinycam? A step to step explanation would be much appreciated since my knowledge on network is still pretty basic.

Appreciate any prompt help. Thank you

Anyone out there care to help? Because it defeats the purpose if I cannot access it on the go. I had no problems accessing it from my office network though.  :( :( :'(

Found from users review that mydlink very unreliable on 3g net work. Very erratic. Some reported working, some hit and miss and some won't work at all - like in my case.

Anyone nice enough to provide link on how to set this cam with 3rd party software like tiny can or IP can viewer? Or step by step explanation? Thank

Ok......further research told me that most ISP closed port 80 so I need to redirect port. I redirected it already on router and on camera, nothing happens still. Or maybe I did it wrong. I'm stumped and frustrated now......,

I am able to access all of my cameras on 3G. I use it daily with no problems--it is a very reliable method to access the streams (albeit slower than using a hard wired internet connection). I use either the mydlink lite app or IP Cam Viewer. Both of these are iphone applications.
