Has anyone attempted to install the new V1.40 FW (DAP-1522 A1 FW 1.40b03_1.40b03.bin). My DAP1522 shows the file as an invalid load file ?
-
What Firmware version is currently loaded?
Try using a different browser like Opera or FF.
Follow the FW Update sticky process?
-
I just attempted to install the v1.40 FW for my DAP-1522 A1 using Firefox, Chrome, and Internet Explorer. All 3 returned a "The chosen file is not an image file." message.
I downloaded the file twice more with the same error returned each time.
I noticed that prior firmware releases have been 3 megabytes in size (the binary file itself). This firmware (v. 1.40) binary file is 11 megabytes in size. I suspect there has been an error as to which file has been placed for user download.
Edited to add "as to"

I would contact D-Link directly about this issue. I'll send my contact a message.
-
Thanks. I went through the web form and essentially summarized the issue and my suspicion (wrong file placed for download).
-
For now if you need to upgrade FW, use the prior version to v1.40. Don't use v1.40...yet. I see that file is way bigger then before. D-Link has been made aware of this.

Two days ago (on Jan. 9) I got a reply from D-Link's technical service and there was a direct link supplied to an ftp site with the valid update file. I just had time to install the vers. 1.4 file from the ftp site and the update occurred properly.
Just now I checked to see if the file linked to in the "Support" section of the website links to the proper file and it does. The file is 3.1 MBytes in size.
I'm happy with the result.

It was corrected yesterday. ;)

OK, so loaded the new FW, but cant seem to set the "Daylight Saving Time" start and end week set. If I change it from anything but the default then save, I get a "Invalid Daylight Settings" error.
-
What happens if you enable NTP server for time.nist.gov?
-
It matters not what I put in the timeserver, whenever the DST start and END dates are changed from the default (which by the way are incorrect for the USA in anycase) I get an invalid message from the DAP-1522
-
Just a follow up, on Eastern Time Zone, the DST Start month is defaulted to January (which of course is incorrect), this cannot be changed to March, with the current Firmware (1.40)
-
If you use the NTP Time server and uncheck DST box if you hat that setting, the NTP will automatically update the time for you, even when the time changes. Just make sure your time zone is set.

Response from DLink Support about DST Setting on V1.40
"I have tried the setup here and I was able to replicate the issue that you report with the firmware version 1.40. I have reported this to our Product management team. Once I hear back from them I will provide you with an update."
-
Good to hear man. Hope they will fix it. In mean time, have you tried my suggestion?
-
Has anybody actually seen their 1522 update it's time with the box checked. I've checked my log for the last two days and it hasn't set it once. The time is again wandering minutes ahead per day.
-
I just downloaded the new firmware(3.1mb). I uploaded it to the device and I had to login again. How do I know if this new firmware fix was applied successfully?
It still says:
Firmware Version : 1.40 , 15:33:06 01/14/2011

No I have not. I've got A1 and 1.40 and the NTP has never worked even with your suggestions Furry. I've also noticed that in AP mode, if I change the ip settings to static, it changes it back to dynamic. Luckily, dhcp reservations solve that problem, but I still wish the setting would stick.

Quoting myself and posting later, but A1 1.41b does not resolve the NTP or the ip settings and netbios name resetting themselves on reboot. 1.41b also doesn't show up at the top/latest on the downloads page. It's at the bottom. ??? I've also noticed that the DAP-1522 doesn't show up on Windows Network when in AP mode. I see my DGL-4500 + DAP-1525 though.

I've asked D-Link to review this and see if we can get some information on this and your 1525 issue as well. Please be patient. I think this is beyond forum help here. :-\

Thank you for the follow up Furry! :) ;D
Check out the 1525 issue. It was resolved by using the older firmware. :)
I spoke too soon. I went to watch a movie tonight and it cut out. Sigh.

Can you give a overlay of how you have all these devices connected?
Example:
ISP Modem>DGL-4500<wired AP>DAP-1522<>PC or client devices

Totally!
ISP Modem--wired---DGL-4500---wired---DAP-1522(APmode)---Primary Computer.
DAP-1525 in Bridge Mode. (wirelessly connects to DAP or DGL)---Sony TV wired to Dap-1525. (Netflix, Amazon)
A few tablets + laptops + iphones that are connected via wifi.
Two computers and 1 Xbox 360 wired to DGL-4500.
Let me know if that makes sense. If not, I'll draw it. :)

Anyone want to give this a try?

Not really :) If that's what's necessary, then it confirms what we already know. (That the NTP isn't updating from internet sources)
-
meantioned as a possible work around. I tried it and my 1533 didn't update...However I didn't use Server 2008... :-\

Does your model AP allow the use of an numerical IP address for the NTP server?
