Hey guys!
Help!

I bought a DIR-865l today, and...  I've set everything up.
Ethernet works fine, I've updated the firmware to 1.08, and...  generally it seems to work really well, with one pretty major exception.
The wifi networks aren't visible to ANY of my devices (3x laptops, 2x phones, 2x ipads).

I've tried changing the channels, changing settings generally, and...  nothing.
Nothing I do seems to make the wifi networks show up (and no, the SSIDs aren't hidden).

Any ideas?  Did I just get a lemon?

  • What region are you located?
  • Was a Factory Reset performed before and after any firmware updates then set up from scratch?

  • Was the router working before any firmware updates?

Set single mode G on 2.4Ghz and single mode N on 5Ghz with WPA security disabled as a quick test to see if your devices see the SSID names. Be sure to set different SSID names for each radio. Reenable WPA2 only after testing...

Let us know.

Hey!
Thanks for the quick reply.
I took your advice and tried each of those suggestions (and also tried each available channel for each of the 2.4ghz/5ghz wireless radios).
No change whatsoever.

In response to your other query, answers are below:

Link>Welcome!

  • What region are you located?
  Australia
  • Was a Factory Reset performed before and after any firmware updates then set up from scratch?
Yes
  • Was the router working before any firmware updates?
No, it didn't work even straight out of the box

Set single mode G on 2.4Ghz and single mode N on 5Ghz with WPA security disabled as a quick test to see if your devices see the SSID names. Be sure to set different SSID names for each radio. Reenable WPA2 only after testing...

Done - no change.  There are still no wifi networks being broadcast, as far as I can tell.

I recommend returning this unit to the place of purchase or phone contact D-Link support, as it seems faulty. I would try another 865L as they are not all bad. I like mine.

Let us know how it goes...
