Title: Viewing USB content where no internet is available..
Post by: PraveenLim on July 15, 2013, 09:07:21 AM
Hi,
I frequently go to camping where no network (wireless or 3G) is availale. I will have AC 110V power from my car inverter. Now if I want to view content in my USB drive on my iPAD will it be possible to use Dir 505/505L/506L to do this. I have searched all through the net, but to the point answer is not traceble. Everywhere where such a claim is made, wireless connection is availble.
I can preconfigure my devices before I go.
Thanks.
Lim
P.S. which model is better?

Most routers don't need any Internet connection to connect to the USB connected devices on the LAN side. It should work fine with out Internet services.

The 505 and 506L don't need any kind of Internet service to view files from the USB port - I assume the 505L is the same.
