Title: 4G/LTE USB Modem Dongle
Post by: aharty on August 16, 2015, 03:25:26 PM
Can I plug a 4G/LTE USB modem that I use with my wireless carrier (AT&T for example), into one of the USB ports on this modem for the WAN?

I moved to Alaska and do not have any wired connections to my home other than power and basic phone.  I am using our wireless data and would like to get my WiFi back up again.  The only way I can do this cost-effectively is to get this router to use the internet through a USB modem.

I see the Asus 3200 says it supports this functionality, but before I buy the modem I'd like to know if this Router will do it too?

Thanks,

-Alan

Unfortunately it does not. A RJ-45 connection is required for the WAN connect to a ISP modem that support RJ-45 connections. You might call up D-Link and ask them which model router supports ISP USB dongle connections. Might ask the ISP if there is a RJ-45 support on one of there modems...
