Title: Can you set Idle Connection Timeout?
Post by: kckevin on January 17, 2008, 08:26:54 AM
I have a DIR-655 at home and I am looking to use one in the office to replace a wired router.  Behind our current router is our exchange server (MS Small Business Server 2003).  I have a couple of people in my office with Windows Mobile devices that would like to use Direct Push (including myself), but to be able to use it effectively (read: better battery life) you need to set your Idle Connection Timeout.

Is there a way to do this on the DIR-655?  I've looked around and found no settings that would allow this to be changed.  What is the default timeout built into firmware?

The following link from MS http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=905013 (http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=905013) gives an idea of what is required to make Direct Push work well.

Thanks.
Kevin
