Hardware Version Question
« on: June 07, 2013, 10:45:35 PM »

In response to someones post (seems its been deleted entirely), the hardware versions for this cam are
A1 (has plastic ball), A2? (not sure there was a release), A3 (metal ball), A4 (? but is the latest). I dont know if there was a circuit board change or lens change. The cams look identical but in fact there has been a series of iterations. Could not find any notes on the DLINK site. The hardware changes have nothing to do with any firmware change as I have an A3 and A4 that shipped with firmware 1.12. The latest firmware is 1.20 which we must download. Beware of getting an old cam!!!! I imagine DLINK wants to work down the inventory of the old cams rather than take a write off to their financials, if the charge is material. But it doesnst seem fair to the consumer.
