Title: Wireless speed issues
Post by: Rahakon on June 18, 2018, 04:03:54 AM
I bought a this router today. Have been setting up and been happy with it until I measured the wireless speed. I have a gigabit internet and the wireless speed is supposed to be 1300 megabits, but I'm only getting 100 megabits. What setting should I change to increase the speed?

Internet Service Provider and Modem Configurations

What are your wired speeds tested with a PC connected via LAN cable?
1300mb is a connection rate between the device and router. Not actual thruput speed. This differs from actual thruput speed. Wireless speeds will not attain any speeds near 1Gb due to current wireless technology limitations and device Mfr design and support. At most you might see 400Mb on wireless depending upon the devices design.

What is the Mfr and model if your wireless device your testing with?
I would contact the Mfr and see what connection rates and thruput speeds are supported on your device.

Always speed test LAN cable connected PCs first. There's too many variables with wireless that can cause inaccurate results.
