Hi, I stopped receiving emails from my cameras so I went into the settings. I haven't changed anything. the mail server is still set to smtp.gmail.com
the port is still at 465 etc. When I press test I get the email failure message. Any ideas as to why?
Thanks

What model cameras do you have?
- What Hardware version is your DCS? Look at the sticker behind or under the camera.
- Link>What Firmware (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=47512.0) version is currently loaded? Found on the DCSs web page under status.
- What region are you located?
What Mfr and model is the main host router?
Check gmail settings to make sure nothing is being blocked and that apps are allowed thru there system.

Thanks for responding. Cameras are DCS-942L firmware version 1.27. I am in Canada.
The router at home is a Netgear R7000, but this is also happening at my work camera which is set up with different router.

I went to GMAIL settings, I don't see any apps been blocked. Anything I can reset? I have even tried switching to my hotmail account and adjusting the stmp settings in my dlink interface and still get errors.

I've asked for some more help and review on this. Please be patient.

There have been no changes firmware/software wise on any legacy camera that changed the email snapshot behaviour. A few things you can try:
Instead of SSL-TLS:Port 465, you can try STARTTLS:Port 587. Gmail supports that as well and you can give that a shot.
If you use gmail, you will want to check your gmail settings. This FAQ may help.

Well well it was that. "Allow less secure apps: ON: in Google settings was turned off. The moment I turned it on everything works.
Weird because I never touched anything. I wonder if it was a recent Google update that turned it off.
Thanks guys much appreciate all the help.

Keep an eye on that if you notice this again. Google may re-enable it even though you disabled it. :-\
Enjoy.
