Title: Cameras disappear from mydlink
Post by: em02044 on September 19, 2017, 09:47:05 AM
Hello Today all the cameras that I had associated with my dlink account disappeared from the Mydlink app list. I will associate again all the cameras but I would like to know what was the problem so that this doesn't happen again
Thanks in advance

Have the cameras and router been rebooted along with the phone?

I can only check my router hardware when I arrive at home, but in my account I have cameras at my home and others in my parents home, so the cameras are connected with different routers.

Also what camera models do you have connected?

The cameras are 2 dlink dcs 932l and 1 dlink DCS 825l

The problem was solved by register again all the cameras to Mydlink account. The cameras status was like they had been reset to factory defaults so I have to configure all the cameras to the specifications that I need. I was going to buy more cameras but after what happened I'm afraid because if I had 10 cameras instead of the actual 3 it would take a lot of time to put everything like I want again.

Nothing was rebooted, the cameras simply vanish from my dlink account and went to factory default.

Which app are you using? Mydlink Light?

All 3 of my cameras have been connected using the Lite app.

Does Lite work for you at all? Did your wifes iphone see the same issue?

After I notice that I didn't had any camera associated with my account I opened the lite version on her Android phone and also it didn't had any camera . Then I access the mydlink website through a Windows laptop to see if there was any kind of warning of servers malfunction and there I didn't had any camera associated also!

Ok, I can only think of someone has reset the cameras back to factory defaults and this would remove the association with the MDL service..

That seems to be the cause but only I and my wife have access to the dlink account and she didn't do anything.
It was a strange thing that happened!!  :-\

I presume the cameras don't have any physical external access? One could factory reset the camera at the camera as well.

No, the cameras don't have physical external access.

I didn't understand the next quote:

There is a factory reset button on the back of each camera.

However if these aren't accessible by anyone then I presume that would not be a factor.

Seems like a odd ball issue. I would monitor and see if it happens again.

I would call tech support and report the issue. Maybe there is something with your mydlink account. I recommend changing your mydlink account password and maybe the passwords on your cameras to make sure no one is accessing your account and removing the cameras.

Go to http://www.mydlink.com and under the login, click Forgot Password. Enter your email address and click Apply. This will reset your password.
