I see this too.  Do you have a Dlink router?

Can you telnet the port opened in the firewall? To do this click RUN and type "cmd" hit Enter. in the command screen type "telnet xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx xx (WAN IP address space port) and hit Enter. Does it just goto a blank screen? This will indicate if the port is opening and the FTP server is listening on that port. If you know all the rules are correct try power cycling the router and DNS-323 and test this again.

You all may have this working by now, but I can use filezilla to locally log into the DNS-323 with the following configuration in filezilla:

port: blank, unspecified
Host: 192.168.1.217 (obvi, it would be different for you)
Servertype: FTPES - FTP over explicit TLS/SSL
logontype: Normal
User: xxx
Password xxx

Actually FTP works fine too, so I'm guessing it works for everyone now.

Has anyone figured out how to *require* users to log in using SSL/TLS? I don't want insecure connections.

To answer my own question, it seems that firmware version 1.08 provides the option of forcing users to use SSL/TLS in FTP. Firmware version 1.06 does not provide this option of requiring a secure login.

Hi,

I had the same problem. I created a new user in DND 323 and tried to connect and it worked.

Cheers!
