Preset Position and Motion Detection
« on: June 23, 2014, 02:13:00 PM »

Hi - Maybe I am missing something but I'd like to double check with you.
On my 5020 I can configure preset position.
However for motion detection, I can not select the preset position I want motion detection to apply.

Here is the use case:
- I have set up motion detection when camera was at given preset position 1
- Remotely I change the position to check something
- Will motion detection detection apply to preset position 1 (and camera will move back) or will it apply to the changed position?

Thanks

Motion detection applies to whatever the camera is pointed at.  So if you set up a portion of the viewing area to be monitored for motion at a particular position, and then move the camera, that same area will be monitored at the new position.   In other words, the camera allows multiple position presets, but only one motion configuration that applies to all presets.

Correct. The motion detection algorithm simply looks at whatever is currently in the camera field of view. The camera cannot be configured to link motion detection with specific camera positions.
