Besides my beloved DNS 327L, I also have a DNS 320 Rev A, before this FW I NEVER got a decent transfer speed with this NAS, always something around 10-20MB/s max read/write speed, with FW 2.05b10 I'm getting about 50MB/s read and 25MB/s write speeds, OMG!!!

This is huge, man, thanks a lot for this update, I almost trash out my old DNS 320, now I will keep it for a long time, couldn't be more happy!

DNS 320 Rev. A FW 2.05b10:

NAS performance tester 1.7 http://www.808.dk/?nastester
Running warmup...
Running a 400MB file write on V: 5 times...
Iteration 1: 24,94 MB/sec
Iteration 2: 25,51 MB/sec
Iteration 3: 24,92 MB/sec
Iteration 4: 25,49 MB/sec
Iteration 5: 25,49 MB/sec

Average (W): 25,27 MB/sec

Looks like D-Links support site is down at the moment. Try later or tomorrow. I'll check again tomorrow as well.

The release notes just say Hardware A1.

Is it safe to update on rev A2 hardware.?

I don't see any specific selection for A1 or A2 on your regional D-Link site so I presume it' all inclusive for Rev A:

That was my guess, but Build 8 said A1/A2 in the release notes and build 10 just says A1. Build 10 isn't even offered on the regional D-Link site.

It's probably OK, but I don't want to risk bricking my DNS-320.

Well I see the 320 for your region is Phased Out.

You could ask some one at support to make sure if you decide to upgrade.

If your not experiencing any issues with the DNS, then I would probably leave it. You'll be fine.

I could install the update from the US site on my european DNS-320 rev A without any (so far noticeable) issue.

I was more than a little dubious about "leave it, you'll be fine" as an approach to a security patch.

As another poster had already installed it on a European DNS320 I went ahead and upgraded. It seems to be fine so far.

Highly recommend this firmware upgrade... I have no idea what it does, but performance is now close to snappy... from being a slug with 2.05b8 and everything before...

I just completed a move, writing backup files from a local backup drive to the NAS on Win10:

52.3GB in 23 minutes = 37.9 MB/s Writing to the NAS

General explorer browsing files is far quicker to.

Very happy  8)

I have an A3 US model so am I to assume "A" means ALL "A"?  I just upgrade from 1.06 to 1.08 and then found this discussion about v2.

I would phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask them what is officially supported to be sure before doing any updates. Each region handles things differently with in D-Link.

The 320 is not a Cloud supporting NAS. The 320L is. Any model product from D-Link with the (L) designation in the model name means it's cloud supporting.

Can anyone tell me if the new firmware support dlink access nas app?

Hi there,
I've just flash my DSN320 with this new firmware. It seems to work cause I can access to my files from Windows but from the web-amin page, everything seems to be freezed. Display is weird and everywhere I click, nothing apens. Have I missed something ?

Did you clear all browser caches before and after upgrading FW?

What browser are you using?
Try a different browser like IE11 or FF.

holly ......................

I've just spent the last 5 mins screaming at the top of my voice

best start from the beginning

I'm in the UK and have DNS 320 A1 and the transfer speeds is stupidly slow (9.6MB/sec sometimes 2.4MB/sec)

it takes forever to do most thing but it works and it  does the job if you plan ahead so I've been quite happy with it.

now the fun bit.......... I came across this thread about the v2.05b10 and noticed someone say it had improved there transfer speed. so went to the UK region for firmware download and the v2.05 wasn't there..

so I'm thinking its not for UK but there was a UK post on this thread who had success with this update so I thought I'd give it a go..

downloaded from the link in this thread

backed up config settings

used chrome browser

oh one thing I forgot to do was unzip the firmware so first time it failed :)

unzipped the firmware selected firmware and hit apply..

success it installed

did a second reboot just to make sure.

I had the NAS on a static IP which was now blank so used my config backup

******************************
then transferred a file

remember I said it was 9.6MB/sec sometimes 2.4MB/sec well it's now

51.8MB/sec

I've now stopped jumping around the room and I'm having a play

Oh when I went back into the NAS to check the firmware version number it's 2.05

shouldn't it say 2.05b10

Thanks

Hello
Speed is awsome, but i have a regression with ssl login over 443 port from webadmin page :
Most of the time it won't work at all. Sometime login is OK, then the management display is incomplete and is not working..
Tried to clear cache, and reboot etc... just the same.

nonetheless it's a great firmware. 8)

Hi there,

is the security patch (firmware) also for the sambacry problem? smb v1?
if not is it possible to get samba being updated for use smb v2?

on my dns-320 rev a (europe-germany) i ve had an really old version 3.5.15 .. perhaps i think 3.6 should support smb v2.

greetings ftx

thanks for your feedback, but if i disable smb v1 protocol support on my windows client, i don't have any chance to access my shares..

so it seams to be only smb v1 protocol enabled on samba server on DNS-320.
Do you have an idea how i can configure smb v2 permanently?
i mean the firmware is on flash and i think readonly so if i modify smb.conf, after reboot its set back to default?

perhaps i am not shure if samba 3.5.15 does support smb v2, i read about 3.6 does support this ..

Hi there,

i ve found an solution by myself.
I install fonz fun plug 0.7 (ffp) and optware, the i install via ipkg the pkg samba 3.6 (3.6.23).
Then i disabled the original samba server in dlink firmware on /etc/NAS_CFG/config.xml .

I copied the existing smb.conf to optware/etc/samba and then edit  the smb.conf.
I add to global-section "min protocol = SMB2" + "max protocol = SMB2" .

restart nmbd and smbd and then it works for me.

greetings ftx
