Title: Why are the SD cards MP4 files only 5 seconds ?
Post by: MacUser on July 27, 2015, 11:55:59 PM
My 2132L camera is set to record MP4s motion detection  5% and 70% sensitivity, 1280 , 30 frame, video quality =excellent.

The resultant MP4 files are only five seconds long.  How many they be extended, and what is the time limit ?  Would like at least 30 seconds.

Seems when sharpness is increased to the maximum, the video lasts only two seconds.

I have the same issue, and I can not figure out how to increase the time.  I found some instructions that say to go to the Setup  tab, SD card, set maximum duration.  But there is no such option available.  I've looked into all settings, including Advanced settings, but can't find any way to increase the time.  How can it be done?

I missed the original followup/reply.

My 2132l rev a only does 13 seconds in FTP, but I'm at 640x480 I believe.  The camera is severely limited for whatever reason (lack of onboard memory?)

If you reduce FPS from 30, to 15, you should get double the time.

The dcs-2230 does much better with recording clips.
