Title: Connecting to eMule
Post by: saksit on April 16, 2011, 11:34:21 PM
Hello,

I am new to the forum. I tried searching this section but did not find any posting regarding eMule. I am a novice computer user and bought the D-Link DIR-615 for my house. I have a couple of laptops connected to is as well as a desktop.

Anyhow, I recent installed eMule on my computer but I am getting this thing call lowid. Apparently I need to do some type of port forwarding. So I Google all of this and followed the instructions on-line but when I tried to test the connection it still tells me TCP Test Failed.

I open the port by logging into my router then I went to Advance>Port Forwarding
1) I checked the box
2) I selected the application name "eMule". The name auto-populated in the Name field. The number 4661-4662,4711 auto populate in the TCP field. The number 4672,4665 auto populated in the UDP field.
3) I selected my laptop. The IP 192.168.1.100 populated in the IP Address field.
4) I hit Save Settings
5) After I confirm the save I closed the browser

I turn on eMule. The client port section tells me my TCP is 4711 and my UDP is 4672. The box :Use UPnp to Setup Ports" is checked. I hit the Test Ports button and it tells me TCP Test Failed.

What am I doing wrong? I read in some other website about virtual server. I have no clue what that is so I did not try it.

Thank You for your help.

SK

What is your ISP service? DSL or cable?
What is your ISP modem? Stand alone or built in router?

I also have Low ID problem due to "bad" network configuration (defalut)! I have ISP on cable and DIR-615d router.
