Title: Dynamic Port Forwarding
Post by: CTNorthShore on August 24, 2016, 02:42:48 PM
I actually have a DSR-150N but there was no board for that one so I hope this is close enough. I have version 2.01 of the firmware which is quite different that the look and feel I have been used to for years with d-link routers. I am trying to accomplish something that I have also done for years... something rather simple and that is setting up port forward for RDP connections. I did find the port forwarding section which they now call 'Dynamic Port Forwarding'. I added the ports but there is no where to put the IP that you want to port to forward to. I read in the manual and it said it's dynamic and seemed to indicated you don't have to. How does that work? It makes no sense. Can anyone please explain this to me. I must be missing something!

Thank you

I don't know much about this stuff.

I spent a little time in google with "dynamic port forwarding".   ::)

I think you want page 156 of the manual.

ftp://ftp2.dlink.com/PRODUCTS/DSR-150N/REVA/DSR-150N_REVA_MANUAL_2.02_EN.PDF (ftp://ftp2.dlink.com/PRODUCTS/DSR-150N/REVA/DSR-150N_REVA_MANUAL_2.02_EN.PDF)
Sorry I'm not much help.

Furry,

I think that's what he was reading.
I'm guessing he wants what is on page 112 to 114 regarding port forwarding.

Thanks for the replies. No joy. I read the part on creating resources and followed the instructions. Also created a rule in the same resources page to try to get the port to forward for RDP. I also tried creating a firewall rule for the port in question. Nothing I do has worked. I have to say I find this interface very frustrating and the instructions poor. What I am trying to accomplish is quite simple, but has proved very difficult.

Has anyone got this working and can provide a step by step on how to get port forwarding for RDP working with this firewall/router?

Thank you!

Does this help?

I set up RDP forwarding on my Asus regular router.  That was easy.

Thank you RYAT3 but this does not help me. The instructions noted in that article are for a previous firmware version (one that I am very familiar with). Unfortunately, the new firmware as is on the DSR-150N is quite different. Thanks all the same.

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. Might ask for higher level support. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.
