Problems setting up VLANs/trunks
« on: December 20, 2011, 09:30:53 AM »

Hi,

I have two Linux servers with following VLANs setup on the servers:

VLAN 5
VLAN 10
VLAN 15

I have one ethernet adapter on each server and I want to make these same VLANs talk to each other on both servers.  For some reason I am unable to make that happen with DGS-1224T switch.  How should the configuration look like on the switch?

Any help would be appreciated.

Assuming you only have 1 NIC on each server, the setup should be simple.  You need 1 port going to each server.  Each port should be a tagged member of all 3 VLANs.

Set the NIC to the same VLAN ID as the ones in the switch... simple:-)
