How To Route IPv6 MultiCast Across VLANS
« on: October 07, 2010, 02:04:15 PM »

Good Day Ladies and Gents!!!

I'm trying to figure out how you go about getting IPv6 source specific multicast to work across VLANS...
I've managed to configure IGMP and get IPv4 multicast and unicast working across our 3 defined VLans...
IPv6 multicast works only on each local VLAN, but does not get routed to the other VLANS. Actually, I can't get unicast to route through the VLANS either. I can ping IPv4 and IPv6 across all VLANS...

I would assume, that if I were to do the exact same as I did for IPv4, I would need to configure MLD, similar to how I configured IGMP. But there is no MLD option????

The switch is a DGS-3627, and is alone...(ie..no other L2/L3 switches or routers)
I have 3 VLANS defined, and each has their own IPV6 IP..
FD0E:2D:BA9:4::/64
FD0E:2D:BA9:6::/64
FD0E:2D:BA9:8::/64

Any help/info is greatly appreciated....

Well, although I'm not exactly sure what I did. 4 and 6 can see each other, and 8 can see everything...
Maybe it took route tables a bit to build?

I still need to get 4 and 6 to see 8..... hmmm....
