FTP, why no HTTP?
« on: February 06, 2010, 09:56:07 AM »

The router already has an FTP server, which seems to me would be more complex. Any way we could get an HTTP server as a feature in a future firmware update? Seems simple enough, just throw in the functionality, assign it to a folder on the inserted hard drive, change the port for Remote Management, and it's good to go. I would be eternally grateful if this was included.

It would be nice to be able to setup a customized basic HTTP / HTTPS server!
(But it would need some kind of user authentification functionality also.)

We can only hope that D-Link Taiwan development team do read this post ;-)

Guys,
The device is a UPnP AV Server/FTP server. It's a media home device, not a webserver.

I don't think thats a feature that will be added.
